Garry Bonners Road House
| It was a bit of a squeeze for the six piece band at this new venue but they made it by removing a few tables. Anyway you can’t sit down for long with this band playing. The faithful of mid-Herts were fortunate to get them in St Albans as it’s a bit of a hike from their lair of South London.
Fresh from their double gig at the Rock and Blues Festival at Skegness the weekend before the band opened with their eponymous Roadhouse Blues. Moving through their extensive catalogue – in 19 years they have notched up 9 albums – to increasing appreciation from the dancers crowded in at the front, airing some number from their latest CD “Seas of Souls”. Rising on a crescendo of applause for “Preacher Man”, they finally encored with “Heavens Door” penned by his Bobness. The juxtaposition of twin lead guitars and the two delightful singers made this a night to remember. A great time had by all – watch out for Jay Tamkin at Harry’s in May. |
